New Motor Build

Well, the motor has blown head gaskets again, so its time for a new build. I’ve decided on this setup:

Latemodel Resto Forged Economy Short Block
Anderson Ford Motorsport Top End Forced Induction Kit
- B-31 Cam
- Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads
- Pro Products Typhoon Intake
- DSS Main Girdle
- Horsepower Sales Lifter Valley Girdle
- Anderson PMS system for tuning

This setup should net about 500 HP at the tires. I will Keep this updated as I progress with the build. I hope the entire project will be done in late December, Its just too hot to work on it. Will update as much as possible!

UPDATE: Upgraded to the DSS 331 Level 20 Shortblock, which has been ordered. its starting to come together!

Installed the Anderson PMS, and Aeromotive Fuel Pump.

Time to upgrade to a Kirkey seat for racecar! Picked up the Pro Street drag, 17″wide, seat. I’m installing it using the Corbeau seat brackets I had previously, here are some pics of the progress! Will update as I go, just need to make some permanent spacers. Enjoy!

EDIT… final instal complete! Fits like a glove!

Day at the track!

Well, Friday night I went to the Test and Tune at VMP. It was pretty hot while the sun was out, so HP was strugglin, but as soon as the sun one down, my car opened up, and I made 3 consistant passes. here are the best three runs:

So that makes my best ET to date the 12.81 @ 110 MPH, with the 1.90 60ft being my best also. I started launching the car hard, 3500 RPM for all 3 runs, and thats how she did. I need some tweaking in the rear suspension it likes to hop a little, so Ima get some adjustable shocks, and try to soft it up a touch.

Then on the final run of the night, i figured I’d try to launch it at 4,000RPM, then this happened…

She snapped! lol not bad for 130,000 mile STOCK axles lol

No biggie, got 31 spline mosers ready to go in! Should have her back running in a few weeks!

Had a blast! motor ran great and pulled hard EVERY pass. can’t complain at all!
